Dr Gregory is a highly regarded researcher with specialist interests in domestic abuse. Prior to setting up independently, Alison worked for 16 years as a senior researcher in Bristol Medical School. Her primary research interests include: (i) healthcare professionals’ own experiences of domestic abuse, (ii) enhancing informal and community-based responses to domestic abuse (by friends, family, colleagues, and neighbours), and (iii) secondary trauma in researchers and front-line workers. Alison has conducted numerous ground-breaking studies, has published widely, and has developed a number of evidence-based resources, including the recent Friends and Family Handbook (https://womensaid.org.uk/information-support/friends-and-family/) for Women’s Aid Federation of England.
